University-Wide SDGs Education for all Students

An-Najah National University affirms a university-wide commitment to meaningful SDG education that reaches all students. Sustainability concepts are integrated across programmes and supported by a structured model with four pillars: (1) integration across the full curriculum; (2) a mandatory Community Service & Sustainability course (with a sustainability-literacy test) taken by every student; (3) a rich menu of SDG-focused electives, projects and co-curricular experiences; and (4) active student association leadership that turns classroom learning into community impact. Together, these elements ensure every graduate develops practical understanding of the SDGs and the capacity to apply them in professional and civic life.

ANNU embeds sustainability and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across teaching and learning in all colleges. Over 70% of our undergraduate and postgraduate courses include SDG-relevant learning outcomes, topics, labs, or community projects (based on the university’s curriculum mapping for AY 2024/25). This ensures every student engages with sustainability through their own discipline and can apply SDG thinking to real problems. Such as:
