IEEE Student Branch at An-Najah University Organizes a Workshop on Job Market Readiness
The Energy and Black Hole Communities, affiliated with IEEE at An-Najah National University, organized a workshop titled “How to Be Ready for the Job Market?” on February 26, 2025. Supervised by the Deanship of Student Affairs and coordinated with the Faculty of Engineering, the event aligned with the university’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Quality Education, Partnerships, Sustainable Cities, and Gender Equality.
Organized in collaboration with Foras Platform, the workshop aimed to equip students with essential job market skills, covering resume writing, interview preparation, job searching, and building a professional digital identity.
Haneen Habash, president of the Black Hole Community, emphasized that university life extends beyond academics, highlighting the importance of student communities in skill development, networking, and career readiness. She encouraged students to actively engage in extracurricular activities and create opportunities rather than wait for them.
Mohammad Rafiq, IEEE BAU Joint Charter president and Foras ambassador, stressed that opportunities are open to all but require skills to seize them. He underscored the workshop’s value in expanding students’ perspectives and preparing them for the job market through topics like self-marketing and professional online presence.
Ms. Safaa Ayyad, CEO of Foras, shared the platform’s journey from a social media group to a leading career development initiative, highlighting its partnership with An-Najah to support students’ career readiness. Mr. Abdelrahman Hadidee from Foras provided insights on self-marketing, finding opportunities, and developing essential career skills, engaging students in an interactive discussion.
