The programme sheds light on the totalitarian disasters such as natural disasters. For example, earthquakes are considered totalitarian disasters as they leave a destructive effect on infrastructure for water, sewage and electricity networks in addition to their destructive effect on buildings. Earthquakes may also spread diseases and epidemics and cause fires or leaks in chemical materials, and hence pollution. In addition, they may cause landslides in certain areas. Therefore, the programme aspires to produce competent graduates with the ability to deal with disasters and their risk management to reduce their effects on man and nature taking into consideration the exceptional situation the Palestinians live.
