The Deanship of Student Affairs and Engineers Without Borders (EWB) Organization – An-Najah University Branch – inaugurated a training workshop titled “Your Professional Journey: From an Effective Resume to the Job Market” on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. This workshop is part of the “Field Experiences” series, which aligns with the university’s commitment to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in quality education and partnerships for goal achievement.


The event, held at the Law Auditorium on the New Campus, featured the participation of Mr. Iyad Al-Aqraa, Director of Student Affairs; Ms. Farida Abu Mohsen, Human Resources Expert at Asal Technologies; and Student Ameen Salahat, President of Engineers Without Borders. They were joined by staff members from the Deanship of Student Affairs, EWB team members, and an engaged audience of students.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Al-Aqraa underscored the significance of such initiatives in fostering students’ personal and professional development. He highlighted the university’s dedication to supporting activities that prepare students for the evolving demands of the workforce. He commended Engineers Without Borders for its consistent efforts in organizing impactful events, including introductory exhibitions for academic majors and workshops that address essential skills in light of technological advancements. Mr. Al-Aqraa urged students to seize opportunities to enhance their competencies, noting that such skills have become indispensable for navigating the competitive Palestinian job market. He also praised An-Najah University’s alumni for their success in securing influential roles within local and international organizations.

Student Ameen Salahat emphasized that the “Field Experiences” series is tailored to address students’ needs and aspirations by equipping them with market-relevant skills. He explained that the inaugural session, “Your Professional Journey: From an Effective Resume to the Job Market,” was designed to provide practical guidance for students, featuring the expertise of Ms. Farida Abu Mohsen.

Ms. Abu Mohsen led the session with a comprehensive presentation on strategies for selecting appropriate career sectors, preparing for professional interviews, and mastering effective communication in the job market. She also shared actionable advice on crafting impactful resumes and increasing the likelihood of career success.

This workshop marks a significant step in the university’s efforts to empower students with the tools needed to thrive in a competitive and dynamic job market. The “Field Experiences” series will continue to provide valuable opportunities for students to enhance their professional readiness and achieve their career goals.
