An-Najah National University, represented by Prof. Munqez Shtaya, Director of Scientific Centers, has signed a cooperation agreement with University College Cork (UCC) in Ireland to implement a joint project titled "Promoting Children's Health Rights in Palestine."

This collaborative initiative aims to establish the "Children’s Right to Health Network," bringing together researchers from the faculties of Medicine, Law, and Media, alongside local community organizations. The project is designed to advance scientific research, facilitate knowledge exchange, and build institutional and human capacities in the field of children’s health rights.

Over the course of one year, the project will focus on developing a sustainable network of specialists in children’s health rights, launching interdisciplinary research initiatives, and conducting specialized workshops and training sessions. Experts from UCC will lead these programs to enhance participants' research skills and methodologies.

The agreement also outlines regular meetings and steering committees to define research priorities and establish working groups. These groups will address critical topics such as children’s mental health, nutrition, and access to healthcare services. Particular attention will be given to vulnerable groups, including children with disabilities and those deprived of family care, aligning efforts with global and national goals for equitable health services.

Prof. Shtaya highlighted that this partnership reflects An-Najah University’s strategic commitment to advancing scientific research that supports societal development and sustainable growth.

Prof. Abdel Nasser Zaid, President of An-Najah University, underscored the significance of the agreement as a milestone in the university’s contributions to research and human rights advocacy. He emphasized that the partnership with UCC strengthens An-Najah’s role in addressing pressing social and health issues and builds on the memorandum of understanding signed with UCC earlier in 2024. This collaboration reinforces the university’s global academic engagement and dedication to promoting health equity for children in Palestine.
