The meeting was held at the Dean's Office of the Faculty and was attended by Dr. Abdulsalam Alkhayyat, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Mohammad Abu Awwad, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Allied Medical Sciences; Dr. Mustafa Ghanem, Dean of Graduate Studies; Dr. Malik Al-Qab, Director of the Department of Applied Medical Sciences; and Dr. Amjad Ezzeddin, Head of the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences.

The PMTA delegation included Dr. Samer Abu Najmeh, President of the Palestinian Medical Technology Association; Dr. Ayman Al-Najjar, Vice President; Executive Board members Moath Amer, Suha Al-Akhras, and Naeem Abdullah; as well as representatives of the Association's Nablus Branch, including Dorgham Yassin, Head of the Branch Committee, Fayez Al-Zagha, Abeer Annab, Mohammad Mahyar, and Amani Abu Hsaira. The meeting was also attended by Fatima Yassin, President of the University's Medical Laboratory Students' Association.

Welcoming the delegation, Dr. Abu Awwad paid tribute to the late Dr. Osama Najjar, recognizing his enduring contributions to the medical technology profession. He expressed his appreciation for the Association's visit, describing the partnership between the University and the PMTA as a distinguished model of collaboration. He emphasized that this partnership provides students with a comprehensive educational environment while enhancing both their academic learning and practical competencies.

For his part, Dr. Alkhayyat commended the Association's commitment to supporting academic and scientific development and its efforts to bridge academic education with professional practice. He reaffirmed the University's commitment to expanding and strengthening collaboration with the Association across areas of mutual interest.

Dr. Abu Najmeh, President of the Palestinian Medical Technology Association, reaffirmed the Association's commitment to advancing the profession while carrying forward the legacy of its founding leader, the late Dr. Osama Najjar. He also emphasized the Association's continued support for the cooperation agreement signed with the University on 23 December 2025. Dr. Abu Najmeh praised the University's decision to invite the Association—for the first time—to participate in the oral examination of graduating students undertaking their practical training, describing the initiative as a significant step that reflects the University's commitment to fostering meaningful institutional partnerships.

Addressing graduate education and research, Dr. Ghanem, Dean of Graduate Studies, highlighted the importance of the cooperation agreement, which provides tuition discounts for graduate students affiliated with the Association. He noted that this initiative has created greater opportunities for members of the PMTA and the Union of Health Professions Syndicates to pursue postgraduate studies and further their professional development.

Dr. Ezzeddin, Head of the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, also praised the Association's participation in both the written and oral examinations for graduating students. He noted that its contribution played an important role in assessing students' ability to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical clinical competencies.

The meeting concluded with several key recommendations, including:

• Continuing and expanding academic and professional cooperation between the University and the PMTA.

• Organizing a joint scientific day in the near future.

• Exploring ways to encourage enrollment in graduate programs offered at the University's Rawabi Campus.

• Establishing a joint committee to examine proposals aimed at strengthening graduate programs.

• Reaffirming An-Najah National University's pioneering role as the first university to offer a PhD in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, while exploring opportunities for the program's continued development.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Palestinian Medical Technology Association presented a symbolic gift in support of the University's Medical Laboratory Students' Association. The initiative, originally approved by the late Dr. Osama Najjar, was received by Fatima Yassin, President of the Students' Association, to support its activities and future initiatives. In recognition of the Association's valuable contribution to the oral examination of students undertaking practical training and its continued partnership with the University, Dr. Abu Awwad presented the Association with a commemorative shield in appreciation of its collaboration and ongoing support.
