Executive education programmes, short courses and vocational training open to the public
An-Najah National University (ANNU) plays an active role in extending education beyond its enrolled students by providing lifelong learning opportunities for the wider community. Through a wide range of executive education programmes and vocational training initiatives, the University ensures that individuals—including professionals, youth, women, and underserved groups—can access short courses and practical training designed to improve employability, entrepreneurship, and social empowerment. These programmes are not part of degree curricula such as MBA, but are specialized, flexible, and community-oriented, directly contributing to Quality Education.
Every year the University opens its classrooms, laboratories, workshops and InnoPark training rooms to people who are not enrolled at An-Najah: school pupils, recent graduates, job seekers, working professionals, company employees, farmers, women and young people from across the West Bank. Programmes are advertised publicly through the University website, the Zajel news portal and the An-Najah Training Academy platform, each with a published registration route, and they lead to certificates or micro-credentials rather than degrees.

Who can join?: open access for the wider community
ANNU extends short, non-degree education to people who are not enrolled in its degree programmes. Publicly advertised provision includes language courses for non-students, programming courses for schoolchildren, professional automotive training and short technical courses. Eligibility, fees and registration arrangements vary by course; professional prerequisites or age limits apply where stated in the announcements.
The University provides learning through scheduled terms and successive cohorts, alongside courses tailored to particular community and employer needs. Published recruitment notices explicitly identify InnoPark as the face-to-face venue for ECG, Portage early-learning, communication and presentation, and accounting-software training. Practical pharmaceutical and chemical analysis using HPLC and LC/MS-MS was advertised in the Scientific Centers Building on the New Campus. Through the An-Najah Training Academy, and Training Center , the University offers an extensive set of short-term courses, workshops, and seminars designed to address modern and emerging needs of the community. These programs are tailored to provide practical and advanced skills without requiring full-time academic enrollment.

Vocational Training (TVET)
Through the An-Najah Center for Training and Rehabilitation and the Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology, ANNU delivers comprehensive vocational training programs designed in close partnership with industry stakeholders. These training courses equip individuals with hands-on, employment-oriented skills that align with local and regional labor market demands.

Specialized Training in Health and Emergency Response
In addition to executive and vocational programs, ANNU contributes to public safety and health capacity through the An-Najah Center for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Advanced Life Support Training. The center delivers certified training in advanced CPR and resuscitation techniques for:

- Local community members working in health-related fields.
This center represents ANNU’s commitment to expanding life-saving knowledge and critical emergency skills within the community.
Recurring life support and emergency training
The University’s life-support training centre is located in the Scientific Centers Building, first floor, on the New Campus. Its published catalogue includes BLS, ACLS and Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED. Repeated training reports document continuing provision; the audience of each cohort is stated below.

Hospital staff, enrolled students and instructor-development cohorts demonstrate regular professional provision. Public participation is supported by the centre’s broader community remit.
Accredited community life support training
The University’s 18 August 2025 accreditation report explicitly identifies healthcare professionals, University students and community members as beneficiaries of the Life Support Training Center. It documents renewed American Heart Association recognition and training in BLS, ACLS, PALS and essential emergency skills. This supports the public and professional scope of the continuing training already documented above.
A further report on 31 May 2026 records renewed American Heart Association accreditation through 2029 and confirms the Center’s provision of CPR and life-support courses to different groups in society. Together, the two reports support institutional continuity and externally recognized training quality.

Foreign language courses for the second semester

Twenty training hours per course, with two meetings weekly. Languages included English, Spanish, Russian, Turkish and French.

Winter Python programme for schoolchildren

The Innovation Club for Young Geniuses advertised fifteen hours of introductory Python over five days, 10:00–13:00 daily, for pupils in grades 5–7.

The An-Najah Training and Rehabilitation Center at Hisham Hijjawi advertised three professional courses: manager for electric and hybrid vehicle maintenance; manager for diesel and petrol garages; and electric and hybrid vehicle technology for technicians.

Elderly caregiver training

The Childhood Institute, Community Service Center and InnoPark launched practical training for young people and women interested in elderly care. The first session lasted four hours, with further sessions planned on daily care, vital signs, first aid, communication and psychological support.
Social entrepreneurship under EPISODE

A 210-hour programme engaged students and graduates in social entrepreneurship; participants presented fourteen ventures. The Scientific Centers and InnoPark implemented the training with project partners.

Summer language courses with explicit non-student fees

Political analysis in international relations second course

The Training Academy completed its second political-analysis course for academics and people interested in politics, law and media from different West Bank governorates. It combined theoretical work, applications and practical simulation.
Delivery was blended, using Zoom and face-to-face sessions in InnoPark rooms. The report explicitly describes participants beyond a single student cohort.
Youth artificial intelligence programme launch
First sessions 19 July 2025; reported 23 July 2025
The Training Academy launched a series of hands-on AI courses for age groups 12–15 and 15–17. The launch report records eighty participants.

Practical ceramics portrait and anime courses

More than fifty beginners and people interested in the arts participated in a series covering ceramics, portrait drawing and anime. The report also announced advanced arts courses for different ages.
Courses were held in Faculty of Fine Arts rooms on the New Campus. The report describes a community-facing beginner series.
Mosque preacher qualification second cohort

The Faculty of Sharia and Nablus Awqaf Directorate launched the second course, How to Be a Successful Preacher, to develop religious knowledge and public-speaking skills.

Youth artificial intelligence programme completion

The Training Academy reported completion of a series of AI courses for more than sixty participants aged 12–17, including safe and effective use of AI applications and support for school learning. Certificates were distributed with families present.

The Academy delivered ten intensive training and practical hours for National Carton Industry Company staff. The content was designed around the company’s needs and forms part of its customised professional training provision.

Autism detection and related disorders professional workshop
Delivered 9–11 September 2025; reported 14 September 2025
The Global Health Institute and Palestinian Childhood Institute delivered a three-day workshop for health, special-education and rehabilitation workers, combining expert sessions with practical work.
The closing practical session included work in the Childhood Institute rehabilitation classrooms. Participation was directed to professional groups.
The Young Programmer first Python application
Announcement 12 October 2025
The Training Academy invited schoolchildren aged 8–14 with an interest in programming and technology. Sessions were advertised on Saturdays, 10:00–13:00, starting when the required participant number was reached.

Short medical-device maintenance courses
Announcement 13 November 2025
Continuing Education advertised short specialist courses in critical life-support device maintenance, dental-unit maintenance and aesthetic-device maintenance. The stated target groups are engineers, technicians and students in medical and engineering specialisations.

Smart Production vocational training under Jusoor II
Implementation reported 16 December 2025
Hisham Hijjawi reported ongoing Smart Production training in partnership with Palestinian Vision and supported by F4J Careerz, aimed at youth technical skills and labour-market readiness.

Introductory dialogue facilitation for external young adults
Announced 8 January 2025; scheduled 13 January–17 February 2025
The Academic and Professional Development Center advertised introductory dialogue facilitation under the Climate Justice project for people aged 18–30 from Palestine. The stated commitment was twelve to fifteen hours across five weeks, covering active listening, questioning, observation and facilitation.
The programme was fully asynchronous and online. Applications were due 12 January 2025 through the published form. The invitation states that the training is useful irrespective of study or profession; this supports external eligibility while preserving its online delivery.
Green entrepreneurship and sustainable development training
Forum held 21 June 2025; main report published 30 June 2025
ANNU and FAO reported training more than 222 young women and men, 77 per cent female, through seventy hours of theoretical and practical learning in sustainable agriculture, value chains and green entrepreneurship. More than 130 participants also received practical placements in local agricultural and food-processing institutions.
The Faculty’s invitation specifies the forum venue as InnoPark, opposite the Old Campus, 10:00–13:00 on 21 June. The training combined University expertise and external workplace practice.

Green Jobs programme closure on the New Campus
Closure held 1 July 2025; main report published 4 July 2025
The Green Jobs project concluded in the Faculty of Law and Political Science auditorium on the New Campus. The University, FAO and the Danish Government supported employment and entrepreneurship in agriculture and food. The report states that more than 25 per cent of trainees obtained work and that more than ninety companies and institutions participated in practical training.
This supplements the documented programme with a University-hosted closing event and employment outcomes. The report records certificate distribution and an intention to continue the model.

Graduate employability workshop on the New Campus
5 May 2025
On 5 May 2025 the Training Academy organised HR Talk in the Faculty of Law and Political Science auditorium on the New Campus, with the Palestinian Fund for Employment and the federation of Palestinian chambers. Participants included recent graduates, students approaching graduation and HR managers from local and international companies. Workshop sessions addressed CVs, professional profiles, interview preparation and the skills employers seek. This is a dated University-hosted professional-skills workshop with graduate participation.

PAL GAP farmer training and certification further details

ANNU was responsible for training beneficiary farmers to meet PAL GAP standards and supplying agricultural tools and materials. The first certified group comprised eighty-one farmers from Jenin, Tulkarm and Nablus under the Safe Agriculture project, implemented with ESDC and coordinated with PSI and the Ministry of Agriculture.
The certificate event took place at the Agricultural Engineers Association hall, with about fifty farmers attending. The eighty-one certified farmers and about fifty event attendees are different measures. This is external vocational training evidence; the ceremony was off campus.

Public language learning and professional preparation
ANNU extends non-degree learning through public language courses and focused professional preparation for graduates. The following evidence strengthens the documentation of external access, recurring provision and named University venues.
Language Resources Center: public access and recurring provision
The Language Resources Center states that it serves both University learners and the wider community. Its current registration page explicitly includes applicants outside the student and staff categories, with a published fee of 300 NIS for “others”. SDG Training Academy: free online learning and certification
The Sustainable Development Office provides an SDG Training Academy offering free online sustainability learning. Its stated vision and goals include students, staff and the local community. The introductory sustainability course explicitly welcomes anyone seeking foundational knowledge, while the catalogue includes professional subjects such as business sustainability, sustainability consulting, environmental impact assessment, sustainable energy and carbon accounting.
The free digital certificate requires completion of the course requirements and a final quiz score of at least 80 per cent, with up to three attempts. Fashion and textile industry training needs workshop

Hijjawi engaged fashion-sector companies and tailoring workshops under INTEXPaL to align TVET with market needs, including proposed training of up to 120 hours in digital fashion design.
The workshop was at Darzeh Hall in Nablus.
