Student Housing Support
Student Housing Support
An-Najah National University is committed to ensuring that the cost of housing never stands in the way of a student’s education. Many of our students come from cities, towns, villages and refugee camps across Palestine, and for them, living close to campus is essential to attending classes regularly and safely, especially when movement restrictions and closures make daily travel difficult. The University therefore helps students, and particularly those in financial need, to secure affordable accommodation near its campuses.
Housing near campus
The areas surrounding the University’s campuses in Nablus offer thousands of student apartments, providing a wide choice of accommodation within walking distance of academic buildings, libraries and student services. The growth of student housing around the New Campus has transformed the area into one of the most vibrant parts of the city.
Financial assistance for students in need
Through the Deanship of Student Affairs, the University provides financial assistance to help students in need cover the cost of renting accommodation close to campus. Priority is given to:
-
Students from low-income families.
-
Students coming from distant cities and regions, for whom daily commuting is not possible.
-
Students facing exceptional social or financial circumstances.
-
Students with disabilities.
Applications are assessed by the Deanship of Student Affairs on the basis of each student’s financial and social circumstances, and support is provided in line with the University’s financial aid regulations.
Guidance in finding suitable housing
The Deanship of Student Affairs helps students, especially new and international students, to find safe, suitable and affordable accommodation near campus. The Social Committee of the Student Council also follows up on students’ housing issues and works with the Deanship to address any difficulties they face.
Inclusive housing for students with disabilities
In cooperation with the Disability Support Office, the University gives students with disabilities priority support in securing accessible accommodation close to campus, so that they can reach University facilities easily and take full part in University life.
Reducing the overall cost of living
Housing support is part of a wider package of assistance for students in need, which also includes subsidised and free meals, food vouchers, discounted public transport cards, scholarships, student loans and tuition instalments. Together, these services reduce students’ overall cost of living and allow them to focus on their studies.
How to apply
Students who need housing support can contact the Deanship of Student Affairs at the Student Activities Building on the Old Campus.
