Educational Outreach Beyond Campus

An-Najah National University (ANNU) is dedicated to its mission of advancing knowledge and empowering society by actively engaging with communities beyond the campus. Through a wide range of educational outreach initiatives, the University brings academic expertise, research-based solutions, and student-driven initiatives to local schools, marginalized groups, and community organizations. These efforts reflect ANNU’s vision of building an informed, skilled, and sustainable society while strengthening its alignment with Quality Education.

Lectures, Workshops, and Demonstrations

ANNU faculty members and students frequently deliver tailored lectures, workshops, and interactive demonstrations in schools, cultural centers, NGOs, and local institutions. Topics span across disciplines, including:

  • STEM and Innovation: Science experiments, engineering demonstrations, and coding workshops designed to spark creativity among school students(School Visits Program).

  • Health and Wellbeing: Awareness campaigns on nutrition, hygiene, chronic disease prevention, mental health, and reproductive health.

  • Sustainability and Environment: Training sessions on renewable energy, waste reduction, biodiversity, and climate change adaptation.

  • Cultural and Social Development: Seminars on history, human rights, civic engagement, and community resilience.

These events are customized to the needs of target groups, making learning accessible and impactful while strengthening ties between the University and the wider society.

Voluntary Student-Run Outreach Schemes

Student involvement is central to ANNU’s outreach model. The University empowers its students to design and implement voluntary initiatives that directly serve the community:

  • Supportive Education Program (Community Service Center): Provides academic support to schoolchildren with learning difficulties, particularly those from disadvantaged social and economic backgrounds.

  • Peer-to-Peer Learning Clubs: University students mentor school pupils in mathematics, English, ICT, and science, bridging knowledge gaps and promoting equal opportunities.

  • Health Awareness Days (Medical Student Volunteering): Student-led teams deliver free health check-ups, first-aid training, and awareness sessions in refugee camps and rural areas.

  • Environmental Volunteering: Student associations organize campaigns for tree planting, clean-up drives, and eco-awareness workshops in collaboration with municipalities.

These voluntary schemes not only enhance community knowledge and capacity, but also cultivate a spirit of leadership, civic responsibility, and social solidarity among ANNU students.

Institutional Partnerships and Community Programs

To maximize impact, ANNU collaborates with schools, NGOs, municipalities, and ministries in Palestine to implement structured community education programs. Notable examples include:

  • Partnership with the Ministry of Education: Hosting teacher training workshops, school competitions, and talent discovery programs in STEM and arts.

  • Innopark and Training Academy: Offering free or subsidized training for youth in entrepreneurship, digital skills, and innovation.

  • Educational Campaigns in Rural Areas: Faculty and student teams regularly visit underserved communities to provide academic enrichment, health literacy, and career guidance.
