As part of its commitment to social responsibility, An-Najah National University organized a volunteer event on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, aimed at supporting olive harvest efforts in the villages surrounding Nablus. This initiative sought to deepen connections with the local community and uphold Palestinian heritage, engaging students, staff, and local residents in meaningful community service.

The event, coordinated by the Public Relations Department, included a range of activities designed to benefit the local community and foster a spirit of teamwork. Volunteers assisted farmers with olive harvesting, gaining hands-on experience and insight into traditional farming practices. Participants also visited an olive press, where they learned about the olive oil production process, creating an interactive and educational experience.

The university’s “Ehna Al-Najah” team actively contributed to the event, showcasing their dedication to community involvement and commitment to social issues. Their participation highlights the strong sense of social responsibility among the students, as well as the values of volunteerism and altruism upheld by the university.

At the event’s conclusion, local farmers expressed heartfelt gratitude to An-Najah National University and its students, acknowledging the positive impact of such initiatives on community solidarity and cultural preservation. They voiced hope for the continuation of similar activities that promote cooperation and social cohesion.

This initiative is part of the “Nawwarat An-Najah” campaign, welcoming new students and aligning with the university’s mission to foster social unity and preserve Palestinian cultural heritage. By involving students in service that supports local families and highlights the importance of olive trees, the university reinforces values of cooperation, youth engagement, and sustainable development—contributing positively to public health and community welfare.
