External and Funded Projects
The Virtual Exchange Collaborative is proud of our numerous external and funded VE projects.
This program is embedded into relevant courses within our Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Humanities and Educational Sciences, and Engineering and IT Faculties.
This project aims to enhance intercultural dialogue between students from Europe and the Southern Mediterranean area on the topic of climate change. The project will reach 2,500 participants overall: 1,500 in the five Virtual Exchange (VE) “Climate Justice” iterations and 1,000 taking part in the five iterations of online dialogue facilitation training. CliVEx is implemented by UNIMED – Mediterranean Universities Union, Sharing Perspectives Foundation (SPF), Association Soliya Tunisia (SOLIYA), University of Padua (UNIPD), An-Najah National University (ANNU), and Lebanese International University (LIU). The project is funded by the Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange programme of the European Union and spans over 3 years (July 2023 – June 2026).
An-Najah National University’s Climate Futures Exchange brings together students from An-Najah in the West Bank, Palestine and Arizona State University in the United States to explore how virtual reality and immersive experience design can raise awareness of immediate global environmental crises – especially climate change – to effect change within participants’ communities. In binational teams, participants build on ongoing research around sustainability and the built environment (e.g. energy efficiency, renewable energy integration, climate change mitigation in buildings) to design solutions that they present in a culminating design competition. The project spans over two years (2023-2025).
An-Najah has been involved in the HIVER program since 2023 through multiple courses. Click here to read about the VE Collaborative’s achievements in the HIVER VE International competition in 2023. Check out the ‘Course-to-Course COIL Partnerships’ section to learn more about these programs.
