Non-Discrimination and Respect for Personal Diversity Policy

1. Purpose

An-Najah National University (ANNU) is committed to fostering an academic and professional environment based on respect, equality, and integrity. This policy ensures that all members of the University community, including students, faculty, and staff, are treated with fairness and dignity, regardless of their personal characteristics, beliefs, or identity.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all areas of University activity, including academic admission, employment, promotion, training, campus services, and participation in programs and events. It extends to all campuses, centers, and affiliated institutions of ANNU.

3. Policy Statement

ANNU affirms its dedication to maintaining a community free from discrimination or harassment. The University prohibits any form of discrimination based on personal identity, social background, belief, gender, or any personal attribute that does not relate to academic or professional merit.

The University promotes:

  • Respect for individual dignity and personal privacy.

  • Equal opportunity for all members of the community to learn, work, and develop.

  • A culture of inclusion, dialogue, and mutual understanding within the campus environment.

4. Implementation and Responsibilities

  • University Administration shall ensure that all policies, procedures, and practices are consistent with the principles of equality and non-discrimination.

  • Deans and Department Heads shall promote awareness and ensure adherence to this policy across all faculties and units.

  • The Human Resources Department shall provide guidance and support in cases of reported discrimination or unfair treatment.

5. Reporting and Support

Any member of the University who experiences or witnesses behavior inconsistent with this policy is encouraged to report it confidentially to the relevant administrative body. The University guarantees that all complaints will be treated with respect, discretion, and fairness, in line with institutional regulations.

6. Confidentiality

All reports and related investigations will be handled with the highest level of confidentiality to protect the rights and privacy of all parties involved.

7. Awareness and Training

The University will promote awareness of this policy through orientation sessions, workshops, and communication campaigns that encourage a respectful and inclusive community.

8. Commitment to Diversity

An-Najah National University believes that diversity enriches the educational and social experience of the entire community. By embracing personal differences and respecting all members, the University reinforces its role as a model of tolerance, ethical conduct, and global citizenship.

9. Review and Evaluation

This policy shall be periodically reviewed to ensure its continued relevance and effectiveness. The review will be conducted by the Human Resources Department, and updates will be approved by the University Administration as necessary.
