Program Description

The PhD program in private law aims to develop students' knowledge and skills in private law and provide them with the opportunity to take courses that will equip them with an enhanced competence in both fundamental and advanced areas of private law with aim of improving students’ career prospects, and developing a legal framework that includes comprehensive legislative solutions and regulates individual’s financial and commercial transactions.

The program aims at:

  1. Establishing a private law-specific legal scientific foundation for students

  2. Enhancing students’ intellectual proficiency and specialized knowledge

  3. Engaging students in specialized comparative legal research and private law studies that will advance their legal knowledge

  4. Fostering a culture of innovation and ongoing specialized knowledge acquisition among law students

After successfully completing the following requirements, the student will be awarded a PhD degree in private law:

  1. Completing 48 credit hours. Of these, 18 are compulsory courses and 12 are electives.

  2. Writing a PhD thesis (18 credit hours)

  3. Passing the program’s aptitude test
