In a resounding achievement for An-Najah University, Dr. Othman Hanbali, a distinguished researcher from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, secured a silver medal at the prestigious International Invention Fair in the Middle East (IIFME). The event, held from 04 to 07 February 2024 in Kuwait, stands as the largest specialized exhibition of inventions and innovations in the Middle East and ranks as the world's second most significant international exhibition.

Amidst stiff competition, Dr. Hanbali represented the university with an inventive multi-use engine, a collaborative effort with a team of specialists. Notably, this groundbreaking invention stands out for its simplicity and efficiency, boasting fewer components than traditional engines and offering the flexibility to be manufactured in various sizes at a lower economic cost.

The International Invention Fair featured around two hundred inventions from innovators representing forty countries, highlighting the global scale of scientific ingenuity. Dr. Hanbali's engine demonstrated a remarkable efficiency rate of approximately 58%, surpassing the 35% efficiency of comparable traditional engines, as validated through extensive research.

President Abdel Nasser Zaid extended hearty congratulations on this significant scientific accomplishment, underscoring An-Najah University's commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and recognizing the importance of patents for outstanding research achievements. President Zaid emphasized the university administration's dedication to promoting scientific research and expressed pride in the success of researchers and scientists.

It is noteworthy that the patent application for this groundbreaking invention was submitted to the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) Office in Switzerland in 2023, further solidifying its global recognition.
