Dr. Ahmed Basalat is ranked as first researcher in Palestine in the Ad Scientific rankings.

Dr. Ahmed Bassalat, the Associate Professor from the Faculty of Science at An-Najah National University has continued to solidify his distinguished scientific standing. He topped the list of Palestinian scientists in the AD Scientific Index 2026, ranking 1st in Palestine and 902nd globally out of more than 2.6 million scientists worldwide joined this statistics.
Dr. Bassalat recorded an exceptional research index (H-Index) of 192 over the entire period of his scientific career. such figure reflects the widespread impact of his research and the high volume of scientific citations his research work has achieved internationally.
Dr. Bassalat is considered one of the most prominent researchers in the fields of high-energy physics, accelerator physics, and nuclear physics in the region. Through his research and international scientific partnerships, he has contributed to enhancing the presence of An-Najah National University and Palestine on the global scientific research map.
This achievement confirms the pioneering position achieved by researchers at An-Najah National University and their role in producing globally impactful scientific knowledge via international ties with CERN, and joining ATLAS experiment.
Dr. Bassalat is appointed as the national contact person for CERN - Palestine and he is the ATLAS-NNU team leader
