Social and economic development in China was the main topic discussed during the workshop given by Ayman Masri, Faculty Instructor at the Political Science Department and specialist in Chinese affairs. He talked about the role of ideologies and its theories in relation to their impact on Chinese society, and he explained the prospectives of the Chinese economy and the main reasons behind it. He also spoke about the increasing national income of China, which is the equivalent of Italy’s, France’s and Britain’s summed up together. He also referred to the weaknesses of the Chinese economy and its impact on the lower classes of Chinese society, a problem that might well lead to unrest.
