In cooperation with Al-Haq Association in Ramallah, the Chair of Human Rights at An-Najah National University organized a training course on documenting war crimes and violations of human rights. It was attended by 40 participants, including lawyers, and students at the law college and political science department.

Two trainers from the Al-Haq Association made presentations on humanitarian international law, focusing upon its principles, rules, and specific applications with regards to war crimes. This included a practical component in which students were trained in different methods used to collect data, record cases, and take statements. As part of this, the students were given detailed information about the rules that they have to consider when dealing with war crimes and human rights violations. Furthermore, they were trained on how to make official reports and statements.

Mr.Sami Al-Kilani, the Director of the Human Rights Chair, emphasized the importance of this kind of training course, especially its relevancy at times of increasing Israeli escalation of crimes and violations. He has confidence that the students who participated will use their knowledge and skills to help the centre build a qualified and professional team that can assist in documenting violations of human rights using methods of the highest international standards.
