The South-African Representative at the Palestinian National Authority, Mr. Sisa Ncwana, visited the university and met Prof. Rami Hamdallah, the University President; Prof. Maher Natsheh, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Mr. Rafi Draghmeh, Director of the Public Relations Department. They discussed the agreements An-Najah had previously signed with two South African universities; Natal and Durban.
Mr. Ncwana gave a lecture on the South-African experience in the National struggle against Colonization, Apartheid, Racism and the role of media during the struggle until South Africans got their independence in 1994. He also explained the role of South African women and youth in the national struggle. He encouraged Palestinians to use new strategies to approach their goals and to empower their communication with the world in order to explain their cause and their right to live in their homeland freely.
Mr. Ncwana expressed his people’s solidarity with Palestinians, thanked An-Najah for hosting him and assured them that such events encourage the cultural dialogue and understanding between different nations.
