Inauguration of the Palestine in the Eyes of Young Artists Exhibition at the University

On Thursday, March 18th 2010, the "Palestine in the Eyes of Young Artists" exhibition was inaugurated at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the New Campus. The exhibition was organized by the British Council and other Palestinian bodies and companies. Prof. Maher Abu Eid, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Nablus Governor, Jibrin Al-Bakri, the Director of the British Council, Sandra Hamrouni, and Dr. Hasan N\'erat, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts attended the ceremony.
Twenty nine different Palestinian artists from the West Bank and Gaza participated in the exhibition where they presented their paintings that reflected their perception of Palestine, the traditions of their country and what does Palestine really mean to them. Dr. N\'erat said that this exhibition helps to further promote cooperation between the Faculty of Fine arts and the British Council.
Prof. Abu Eid, on his part, thanked the British Council for its continuous support of the University and its students through offering scholarships and organizing such exhibitions that support the cultural movement locally. This exhibition enables the Palestinian artist to reveal his / her talent and reflect the ideas they have in their minds about their country and people.
Nablus Governor, Jibrin Al-Bakri, and Ms. Hamrouni expressed their admiration of the paintings that were displayed in the exhibition and the many social and human values they embodied.
The exhibition is going to be run in several Palestinian cities over nine months in cooperation with a number of Palestinian universities and institutions.
