The German piano soloist, Eric Schneider offered a concert at the auditorium of the university’s old campus, delighting the audience with the themes he interpreted. He opened the event by talking about the importance of trying to live a life as normal as possible inspite of the hard times the city goes through. He played Ludwig van Beethoven’s Sonate in E-Dur op.109, Sonate in As-Dur op.110 and Sonate c-moll op.111.
Eric Schneider received his diploma as a piano soloist in Cologne, Germany, Early encounters with ‘Lieder’ repertoires inspired him to concentrate on this genre, and he studied with a number of outstanding singers such as Elisabeth Schwarzkopf and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau.
The pianist works with the elite of the younger generation of German singers: Christine Schنfer, Christiane Oelze and Matthias Goerne are among his constant performance partners. He has performed in important concert halls around the world and has recorded numerous CDs with renowned singers. In addition to that, he completed a conducting course at the Hanns Eisler Conservatory in Berlin under Rolf Reuter during the 1990s. For several years Eric Schneider has been concentrating on solo performances and has appeared as a soloist in famous concert halls in Europe and Japan.
