Under the supervision of the President of the University Dr. Rami Hamdallah, an exhibition entitled ‘Hand-In-Hand: in Service to the Community and Building the Nation' was opened in the cafeteria hall of an-Najah's old campus to showcase the accomplishments of the Community Service Center.

Before cutting the sash to officially open the exhibition, Dr. Bilal Salameh, the director of the Community Service Center, gave an overview of the accomplishments of the CSC. In attendance at the library was the President of the University Dr. Rami Hamdallah, the Mayor of Nablus Adli Yaiesh, members of the staff and student body of an-Najah University, and volunteers from the CSC. Dr. Salameh explained the successes of the center over the past year, and emphasized the mission of the center, saying, ‘The programs that the CSC offers, including the Open Door Program, Support for the Elderly, the Housing Program, Educational Support, Psychosocial Support, and many more, are set up in order to provide a framework for serving the local community." Dr. Salameh then extended his appreciation to all those who have supported the center, especially An-Najah University and Dr. Hamdallah, and the local and international organizations that have played an integral role in donating to the center. After this presentation, President of the University Rami Hamdallah, Mayor Adli Yaeish and Dr. Salameh all cut the sash that symbolizes the last year of service activities, and the exhibit was opened. It consists of photos showing the programs of the Community Service Center in action.

Also included in the exhibition was one corner devoted to the forced migration academic program, whose presentation included images showing several Palestinian cities that were occupied in 1948, in addition to a set of photographs that depicted the daily life of Palestinian society in those cities prior to 1948. Professor Samer Aqrouq, director of the forced migration academic program, said the exhibit aims to revive the culture of the right of return, and includes a set of caricatures by Naji Al-Ali and Amiya Juha representing the artists' perceptions of the Nakba, along with a presentation of the factors concerning the right of return based on the implementation of UN Resolution 194.

The exhibition will continue until the evening of Thursday, May 6th.
