Professor Nabil Dumaidi, the University President’s Assistant, represented An-Najah National University in the meeting of the Mediterranean Universities which hosted 33 countries in Cairo last December.
Prof. Dumaidi said that a discussion on issues related to Palestinian heritage and folklore took place, focusing on the means to protect them from loss and destruction. The discussion explored in particular what the Israeli occupation is committing against Palestinian homes, and against sites recognized by UNESCO.
A revision session was convened in order to study methods of applying the laws of heritage and legacy. A number of sites were selected as case studies for comprehensive research into ways in which they can be protected
An-Najah will join in the implementation of these and other similar projects, specifically by the participation of its relevant departments and scientific centers such as Archeology, Architecture, and Urban and Regional Planning Center.
