An-Najah Hosting An Embroideries Exhibition
29 September 2003
Under the patronage of the Governor of Nablus, An-Najah hosted an exhibition of embroideries organized by the Trade Union for three days. The goals of the exhibitions were: to increase public awareness of Palestinian traditional folk crafts such as embroidery, needle work, and olive wood carving; to enable women in need to help support their families in hard times; and to display a part of the rich Palestinian heritage, reaffirming our identity in the face of Israeli efforts to eradicate our traditions and culture.
Hundreds of students and others visited the exhibition, and many items were sold for the benefit of women in need.
