Mr. Richard Makepeace, The British Consul General, and his delegation visited the university on Thursday, March 29th. Mr. Makepeace and his delegation met with the University President, Prof. Rami Hamdallah, were a discussion about the existing academic cooperation between the British Consulate and the university took place. Among the topics discussed, was the importance of the academic scholarships granted by the British Consulate. Such scholarships enable some Palestinian graduates to continue their higher education in Britain.
The meeting was attended by Mike Gapes, Brigid Fowler, John Horam, Sandra Osborne, Muhammad Kubari, Director of the British Council in Nablus, Dean of Optometry, and Dr. Nabil Alawi, Director of the Public Relations Department at the university.
The Consul General also met with students who have applied for scholarships. The British delegation explained to applicants some tips on higher education and the scholarship system in the United Kingdom.
