A course in “Advanced Vehicle Electrical and Electronic Systems” was concluded at Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology, the course gathered twelve vehicle electricians from the Nablus, Jineen and Hebron regions.
The course which was supported and funded by the German Agency for Technical Cooperation (GTZ), focused on scientific theoretical and practical training methods through the use of computer software and machines for defect diagnosis of injection, ignition and conditioning systems in vehicles, in addition to the SRS, ABS and central locking systems. The course also dealt in brief with the Battery, Alternator and Starter Systems and was conducted under the supervision of instructor Baha Al Azizi.
At the End of the course, Mr. Ashraf Kureish, Dean of College, awarded the trainees their certificates and thanked them for their commitment and interest in developing their skills and knowledge which was obvious during the training, he also asked them to keep up the good work and spread the new skills they learnt to benefit their work colleagues, he pointed out the role these technicians could play in promoting and popularizing technical education and training in their regions, taking in consideration the lack of interest and acceptance of high-school graduates to this field of education; which is extremely important for Palestinian development. From their side, the participants thanked the college and its administration for their dedication to the rehabilitating and upgrading of existing labor in the different technical majors, but also asked to increase the number of these courses and maximize the duration especially that most of the local technicians don’t have enough scientific and theoretical background in their field of practice.
This training course comes as part of the college’s policy to increase involvement with the local community through the training and rehabilitating of the existing labor and with the support of GTZ, which is also supporting two other training courses in electrical installations and programming manufacturing machines, implemented currently in the college.
