Yazan Abu Tahnat is 23 years old and has recently completed his MSc in construction engineering from An-Najah with a Ground Point Average of 4 out of 4.


When we interviewed him, he talked about the hesitance he went through choosing a field to study for undergraduate level, that he chose math, physics, and chemistry before finally choosing civil engineering.

He said that he has quit his job to achieve his dream in studying construction engineering at An-Najah. He also said that he was offered an opportunity to study abroad but An-Najah was his preference.

As an appreciation for his excellence, An-Najah National University has offered him a Teaching and Research Assistant job while still doing his thesis.

Abu Tahnat’s teachers commended his persistence and hard work and wished him to pursue his way to postgraduate studies.

Dr. Khaled Al-Sahli, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering commented: “An-Najah aims at attracting excellent graduate and undergraduate students and gathers elitist on campus.”

Student Abu Tahnat also talked about the support he received from his family and teachers and said: “My ambition has no limits. I hope I will be able to obtain more academic degrees and keep up in achieving excellence.”
