Some people might think that the programme teaches us how to cook! Well, it’s much more than that. The programme includes human nutrition and human health and their relation to chronic disease treatment and prevention. It also includes courses on food processing in terms of ingredients, food manufacturing techniques and additives. The programme’s divisions, nutrition and food technology, aim at introducing students to food safety and its impact on human health. Students make a list of chronic diseases pathogens (obesity, pressure, diabetes and heart diseases) and the foods patients eat processed or non-processed. In my opinion, the field plays a critical role in our daily life since it deals with human health and human role in the community.
My study helped me to see things in life from different perspectives. In fact, it changed many things in my life such as my food system which became healthier and more natural. My study also left a significant impact on my family as they also changed their daily food pattern which emphasized my active role as a member of my community.
