The Deanship of Student Affairs, the Laboratory Medicine Students Association, and the Public Safety Committee at An-Najah National University, in collaboration with the Palestinian Civil Defense, proudly announce the commencement of a series of comprehensive first aid courses. The courses kicked off on Sunday, September 10, 2023, and are being skillfully organized by the Laboratory Medicine Students Association, with guidance and support from the Deanship of Student Affairs at the University.


Distinguished guests participated in the opening ceremony, held at the New Campus University's library training hall. Among them were Professor Jalal Al-Dabeek, Chair of the Public Safety Committee at An-Najah National University; Professor Shukri Al-Ghalayini, Public Safety Officer at the University; and Mr. Mahmoud Musleh, Director of Public Relations at the Palestinian Civil Defense, accompanied by a dedicated team from the Civil Defense. Also in attendance were Mr. Iyad Al-Aqra’, Director of Student Affairs, a team from the Deanship of Student Affairs, and student Yazan Al-Bazour, President of the Laboratory Medicine Students Association, along with a keen gathering of students and participants.

Dr. Al-Dabeek inaugurated the session with a warm welcome, expressing his gratitude to all those involved in orchestrating this essential course. He highlighted An-Najah National University's pivotal role in upholding safety standards within the university premises, ensuring facilities are equipped with essential safety measures, and actively engaging in risk management. Dr. Al-Dabeek also underscored the invaluable partnership between the University, civil society organizations, and official institutions.

Furthermore, Prof. Al-Dabeek emphasized the importance of public safety across all aspects of life, underscoring how courses like these significantly enhance students' knowledge of fundamental public safety principles and risk management.

Mr. Musleh, lauded the role played by the Public Safety Committee at An-Najah National University and praised the efforts of Dr. Jalal Al-Dabeek and the University's scientific centers. He emphasized the significance of specialized courses tailored for university students, aiming to create a support network of informed and knowledgeable individuals who can serve as ambassadors for civil defense in their respective regions. These individuals will play a crucial role in spreading accurate information on preventing and mitigating risks and accidents, ultimately averting substantial losses.

Student Al-Bazour emphasized that the first aid course is just one component of a broader series of training programs dedicated to the field of first aid. It is worth highlighting that this particular course boasts an attendance of 45 female students, spanning a comprehensive curriculum encompassing 21 hours of both theoretical and practical training.
