An-Najah Scholar Amjad El-Qanni Awarded the Best Poster Presentation at a Conference in Canada
On October 19th, 2014, An-Najah Scholar Amjad El-Qanni achieved 2nd place and was awarded the best poster presentation in the Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering-Graduate Student Competition of the 64th CSChE Conference on Advanced Materials, Energy and Sustainability. The conference was over 4 days from October 19th-22nd, 2014 and was held in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada.
The conference mainly shed light on nanomaterials; electrochemical energy conversion and storage technologies; sustainable development of energy; water and environmental systems; catalysis for sustainable fuels resources and Energy and chemicals.
Mr. El-Qanni is a second-year PhD candidate to the University of Calgary (UoC) in Canada. He presented a poster titled: “Hydrocarbons Recovery from Mature Fine Tailings (MFTs): Characterizations and Mechanistic Insights”. His work was supervised by Dr. Nashaat Nassar, Assistant Professor at An-Najah and co-supervised by Professor Pedro Pereira Almao, Professor at the University of Calgary.
