An-Najah National University Ranked 1st in Palestine According to Webometrics 2019
An-Najah National University has recently been ranked the 1st Palestinian university and 21st in the Arab World according to the Webometrics report issued on February, 2019. This paved the way to the University to achieve progress in this ranking which evaluates almost 26 thousand world universities.
On the international level, the University improved its ranking by 20 positions since last year’s rankings which makes it among top 7% in world universities.
On this occasion, Professor Maher Natsheh, Acting President of An-Najah expressed his pride of the new ranking and gave credit for it to the university’s hard working staff for their consistent efforts to develop scientific research and higher education and wished the university to achieve more academic progress.

- Webometrics Ranking of World Universities, also known as Ranking Web of Universities is published by the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) located in Madrid.
- Webometrics is a ranking system for the world's universities based on a composite indicator that takes into account both the volume of the Web contents (number of web pages and files) and the visibility and impact of these web publications according to the number of external inlinks (site citations) they received.
- The aim of the Ranking is to improve the presence of the academic and research institutions on the Web and to promote the open access publication of scientific results. The ranking started in 2004 and is updated every January and July. Today it provides Web indicators for more than 12,000 universities worldwide.
