This advancement places An-Najah National University among the top 8.1% of universities worldwide, improving from its position within the top 8.6% in the 2025 CWUR Rankings. The achievement reflects the University's continued progress in strengthening its academic and research standing at both the regional and international levels.

Across the ranking's key performance indicators, the University advanced 126 places globally, moving from 1,845th in 2025 to 1,719th in 2026. Regionally, it climbed 41 places in Asia, improving from 726th to 685th. The University also recorded significant progress in Research Performance, advancing 127 places globally, from 1,776th to 1,649th. In addition, its overall CWUR score increased from 66.8 to 67.2.

This achievement represents another step in An-Najah National University's ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of education and scientific research while reinforcing its presence in internationally recognized university rankings. The accomplishment is particularly significant given the highly competitive nature of the CWUR 2026 Rankings, which evaluated more than 21,000 higher education institutions from around the world.

The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) is a leading international consulting organization that launched its global university rankings in 2012. CWUR publishes an independent academic ranking that evaluates universities based on objective indicators of quality of education, employability, faculty quality, and research performance, without relying on institutional surveys or data submitted by universities.

The CWUR methodology is based on seven objective indicators distributed across four major areas: Quality of Education (25%), which measures graduates' academic success; Employability (25%), which assesses graduates' professional achievements; Faculty Quality (10%), based on internationally recognized awards and distinctions received by academic staff; and Research Performance (40%), which evaluates research output, publications in leading journals, research influence, and highly cited publications.

An-Najah affirmed that this achievement reflects its continued commitment to advancing higher education and scientific research, enhancing the quality of its academic outcomes, and supporting impactful research that contributes to global knowledge.
