An-Najah National University receives a distinguished recognition in the International Union of Architects Award for Innovation in Architectural Education 2026. This success comes to prove the university’s continuous commitment in developing the in Architectural Education through innovation, sustainability, and enhancing the community ties.
This recognition comes as a result of the efforts of the faculty members leading this participation, namely Dr. Mutasem Baaba, Dr. Sameh Muna, Dr. Allam Mousa, and Dr. Mohannad AL haj Hussein. This achievement was realized through An-Najah National University participation in the Virtual Exchange Project regarding the future architectural design, in collaboration with Arizona State University.
This reflects the excellence of the Faculty of Engineering, especially the department of Civil and Architectural Engineering, as it adopts and develop modern teaching methods that meet the contemporary international challenges. The university’s contribution stood out through its focus on integrating the design innovation with practical application, in a way that reinforcing the students’ abilities to address environmental, social, urban issues at both the local and international levels.

It is worth noting that the Architectural Education Innovation Award, launched in 2019 and presented every three years, aims to recognize outstanding academic programs that contribute to advancing architectural education worldwide. The 2026 edition saw broad participation from academic institutions across different countries, with submitted projects addressing themes such as sustainability, climate change, heritage preservation, and social inclusion, in line with the principles of the UNESCO–International Union of Architects Charter for Architectural Education.
