With deep sadness An-Najah National University in Nablus mourns the loss of its Chair of Board of Trustees, Mr. Salah H. Al Masri.  Mr. Al Masri passed away on Monday (February 2nd) in Amman, Jordan after a brief illness.  He was 59. President Rami Hamdallah said that Mr. Al Masri was a great advocate of higher education in Palestine and served a distinguished career in higher education as the University’s Chair of Board of Trustees.  “His leadership was central and vital in developing An-Najah as a leader in higher education in the country,” President Hamdallah noted.Mr. Al Masri served the University during a time of phenomenal growth and monumental events that shaped the history of the city of Nablus and the future of An-Najah.  Born in Nablus in 1950, Mr. Al Masri studied at An-Najah College and he then earned a bachelor degree in Business Administration from Cairo University in Egypt.  He became the University’s Chair of Board of Trustees in 2000.  He is survived by his wife, Asma, and two sons and one daughter.
