Zajel Youth Exchange Program of the Public Relations Department participated in the Regional Forum for Youth Initiatives, held in Jerash, Jordan on April 19-22, 2007. The Forum was organized in cooperation with Safar Project for Youth Initiatives. Mr. Jalal Salman represented Zajel in this Forum.The forum concentrated on the methods of developing the youth initiative in the Arab World. The meeting also included workshops on short stories and the arts.
Participants from most of the Arab countries attended the Forum, which was opened by its Director, Sereen Hleleh. The Director welcomed the guests, and spoke about youth activities and their importance for social development. She also stressed the necessity of supporting youth associations that will help in the development and achievement of youth goals and aspirations.
Mr. Jalal Salman, the Representative of Zajel, said that his participation is another contribution of Zajel in Arab and regional events that will keep Palestinian youth in touch with their fellows in the Arab world. This is another attempt to break the cultural dimension of the imposed siege that keeps Palestinian youth separated from their brothers and sisters in the Arab world.
