Zajel Launches its Spanish Web Site.

The Spanish version of the Palestine Media Unit website ( www.zajel.org/es ) was launched after months of preparations and with the help of the Chilean-Palestinian Volunteer Nadia Hasan Abdo; the website which is part of the activities of Zajel Youth Exchange Program of the Public Relations Department at An-Najah National University targets the Spanish speakers in Spain and Latin America, It was launched to promote the Palestinian culture and heritage in addition to the daily Political news.
The website presents a variety of information about the Palestinian history in general and a special section for the oral history and the 1948 phase, It has special section on the Palestinian factions and movements and their social associations and reports on the Israeli violations of the Palestinian human rights, biographies of politicians, maps, UN resolutions, information about the Palestinian cities and their sites as well as articles and researches.
A special section is dedicated to the University activities and events taking place at An-Najah campuses, sports, student’s affairs and the right to education of the Palestinian university student.
The heritage section includes information about the Palestinian arts, proverbs, poetry, short stories, folkloric songs and embroideries.
Visitors can also enjoy the virtual gallery that contains pictures and photos from the Palestinian environment, cities, old photographs, cartoons, paintings for some Palestinian artists as well as the paintings of the students and Professors of the Fine Arts Faculty of the University.
It deserves mention that the web site comes as part of the continued efforts of Palestine Media Unit and Zajel Youth Exchange Program to interact with the other cultures and address westerns to clarify the stereotypes and the misleading information usually broadcasted and published by other different mass media, Zajel tries to erase the negative images spread by foreign Media corporations that neglect the daily Palestinian suffering in favor for the Israeli side that strongly interferes in the western media corporations in the world.
