The Poison Control and Drug Information Center (PCDIC) at An-Najah National University has been recognized by the World Wealth Organization (WHO) as 24-hour emergency and technical information service for anyone with concerns involving poison or drugs in Palestine, said Dr. Ansam Sawalha, director of Center.  The WHO added the name and address of the PCDIC to its website.  Dr. Sawalha added that An-Najah is proud of this recognition which has been made possible by the continuous effort of the PCDIC's staff.  Dr. Sawalha said that the PCDIC provides up-to-date information needed to treat poisoned patients, information about medications, and the methods to prevent poisoning. Such information is provided to all the sectors of the Palestinian population.  The PCDIC mission also includes conducting research, providing emergency plans in case of toxicological emergency, toxicovigillance, and combating addiction and smoking. <o:p></o:p>
