Journalists and gender activists participated in a workshop on women’s rights and the rejection of domestic violence organized by the Woman Center for Social Counseling. During the workshop, participants debated on the stereotypes of women as a result of their reflection in mass media and on how to get rid of these clichés. They agreed that this could be done by lobbying people and by promoting a compromise of the media and the arts towards the development of a new image of the woman. It was also suggested that there needs to be an accurate portrayal of the status of Arab women within the local community.

An Exhibition on the Memorial of Woman Day
An exhibition showing the struggle of Palestinian women to exercise their social rights was opened in the library with the aim of enlarging the support and the acknowledgement of the difficulties women within the Palestinian community often have to bear. Graphic paintings were shown in the lobby, where students and faculty members got the chance to see Palestinian women under another perspective, which is through their aspirations and feelings. The exhibition was organized by the Woman Center for Social Counseling.
