As part of a cooperation agreement between An-Najah National University and the Tempus- UNAM Project funded by the European Union, An-Najah hosted a workshop entitled "Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and Fund Raising" on Saturday, 22nd December, 2012 in the conference room of the Old Campus Library.

Focusing on essential financial issues and practices in higher education institutions in EU countries, the workshop consisted of two sessions.

The first session looked at the concept of performance, including its various measures and indicators. The session also examined incentive systems and reports on intellectual capital. In this respect, some experiences of European Union Institutions were discussed in comparison with some of the Palestinian Higher Education Institutions.

The second session discussed common techniques for non-profit organizations, particularly universities, to fundraise and channel funds. An-Najah University and Sarbrecken University in Germany were discussed in a comparative case study.

Both the University Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Saed Al- Koni, and the Director of the Finance Department, Mr. Rasheed Al Kukhun lectured at the workshop.

The workshop concluded with a Q&A session on key issues covered.
