In conjunction with the United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA), the Journalism Department organized a workshop on the early marriage phenomena in Nablus City. Conference participants stressed the importance of raising awareness of the issue by launching a continuing campaign to educate males and females from an early age about the sensitivity of this issue.
The workshop concluded with the results of a questionnaire conducted by the Journalism Department that surveyed the citizens of Nablus and its refugee camps. The aim of the study was to gather information and indicators on the mainstream attitudes towards early marriage.
