USAID Mission Director in Jerusalem Visits the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching at An-Najah
Mission Director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Mr. Michael Harvey, visited the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching at An-Najah University. The visit aimed to introduce the guest to the latest developments and accomplishments that the Center has made with respect to the development of educational environments and connecting the University with the society.
Attendees to the meeting included Mr. John Shoemaker, Director of the Palestinian Competencies Development Program, and Dr. Stephen Vaensen, President Assistant for International Education at Arizona State University, in addition to members of the Competency Development Program.
Attendees from An-Najah included Prof. Rami Hamdallah, President of An-Najah University, Prof. Maher Abu Eid, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Deputy President for Strategic and International Affairs, and members of staff at the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching at An-Najah.
In the meeting, Prof. Hamdallah welcomed the guests and thanked Mr. Harvey for the continuous support that the USAID provides for the different programs that aim to develop the different Palestinian educational, health and media institutions. He also described the advanced level that the University’s academic programs have achieved so far.
Dr. Abdel Kareem Daraghmeh, Director of the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching, gave a presentation in which he summarized the Center’s achievements and its work plan which focuses on developing and managing workshops that are centered on quality education, societal education, education outputs and measurement methods. He also spoke about the cooperation efforts that the Center makes with other centers at An-Najah such as the E-Learning Center and the Practical Training Center.
