University Signs Agreement for Cooperation between the Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology and the Ministry of Transportation
University President, Dr. Rami Hamdallah, and Dr. Ali Zidan, Palestinian Minister of Transportation, signed a cooperation agreement this week.
The University and the Ministry of Transportation hope to strengthen the transportation sector and to provide for increased vehicle safety for citizens through this cooperation. According to the agreement, the Hisham Hijjawi College at An-Najah University will provide human and technical capabilities. Specifically, the University will provide high calibre technical inspection for vehicles and engineering tools pursuant to the required specifications and standards approved by the Palestinian National Authority.
Speaking enthusiastically about the agreement, Professor Hamdallah welcomed the Minister of Transportation and stressed that the University is prepared to present the best services for the benefit of Palestinian citizens.
For his part, Dr. Zidan thanked Dr. Hamdallah for his continued efforts to move An-Najah University forward, serving higher education and the Palestinian community.
Several University representatives were in attendance at the signing ceremony, including Dr. Mohamad Hanoon, University Vice President for Community Affairs, Dr. Samer Mayaleh, Dean of the Hisham Hijjawi College and Dr. Sam Alfoqahaa, Director of Public Relations.
Mr. Yahya Aqobeh, General Director of Transportation in the Northern West Bank, and Mr. Ahmad Qanadilo, Manager of Transportation Department in the Nablus Governorate also attended the signing ceremony.
