On June 22nd 2010, Dr. Jawad Fatayer, President Assistant for Alumni Affairs at the University, inaugurated the Global Village Exhibition which was held in the Students' Activities Hall at the Old Campus. The exhibition included several corners in which international volunteers who are part of the international volunteering camp displayed different items and objects that reflected each one's culture, heritage and tradition.

Volunteers from the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Norway, Germany, Slovenia, Canada, Vietnam and Mexico participated in the exhibition and displayed a variety of items from their home countries. Those volunteers also displayed traditional dishes of their countries as well as folk music that reflected the tradition of each one of these countries.

The exhibition was organized by the international volunteers who are part of the international volunteering camp which is organized by the International Youth Exchange Program (Zajel) of the Public Relations Department at the University. It is being part of Zajel's main objective which is to educate internationals about the situation in Palestine while at the same time providing Palestinians with a chance to come in contact with others and benefit from the educational and entertainment programs they offer.

Dr. Fatayer expressed his admiration by the exhibition and the various items that were displayed adding that such event helps Palestinians become familiar with other cultures and their traditions. It facilitates contact and reinforces mutual understanding between different people in different parts of the world. He also said that since the world has become a global village, close contact and communication between different cultures has become ultimately inevitable, therefore, it is important to hold such events which help people across the world become familiar with each other's tradition, heritage and way of thinking.
