The University Wins Three Awards in the "Made in Palestine" Contest

Al-Nayzak Organization for Scientific Innovation, which organized the 2009 "Made in Palestine" Contest, under three categories: university students, higher studies students and professionals, announced the results of the contest at the Palestinian Red Crescent hall in Ramallah and Gaza. The results showed that An Najah University has won three awards in the contest. The event was attended by the University Vice President for IT Affairs, Dr. Sabri Saidam, the Palestine Investment Fund Consultant, Dr. Samih Al Abed, Secretary-General of the Palestinian Federation of Industries, Engineer Ayman Sbaih, in addition to other academic and scientific figures.
The University winners under the students category were Anas Barq and Qais Samara with the "Electronic Coach", Ayman Arandi and Ahmed Rabi with the "High-Definition, Multi-Touch Screen". Under the professionals category, Ashraf Salous and Mu'ath Ibrahim claimed the second place with the "Automatic Stone Engraving Machine".
Dr. Sabri Saidam said that this contest is special because the participants were able to achieve these results despite the difficult situations on ground. Al-Nayzak Organization Director, Dr. Aref Al-Husseini, said that this contest comes to introduce these inventions to the society and the industrial field inside and outside Palestine. He also added that 26 Palestinian inventors were nominated to participate in the "Made in the Arab World" Contest which is organized by the Arab Science and Technology Foundation in the United Arab Emirates.
