On February 27th, An-Najah University signed an agreement with Reach Company in Palestine according to which the University’s students will be trained and employed at Reach’s Headquarter in Nablus. The Company’s Headquarter was previously inaugurated under the auspices of His Excellency Prime Minister Dr. Salam Fayyad at Al-Portugal House of An-Najah Friends Society in Nablus.

The agreement was signed by the University President, Prof. Rami Hamdallah, and Mr. Ammar Al-Aker, Executive Director of Palestine Telecommunication Company (PALTEL). In addition to signing the agreement, a special ceremony was organized to celebrate the launching of the new headquarter of Reach Company. Attendees included Dr. Mashhour Abu Daqqa, the Palestinian Telecommunication and Information Technology Minister, Mrs. Anan Ateereh, Nablus Deputy Governor, Mr. Asem Salem, Head of An-Najah Friends Society, Mr. Ghassan Anabtawi, Director-General at Reach Company, in addition to a number of local figures and representatives of several local public and private institutions.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Mr. Anabtawi welcomed the attendants and thanked An-Najah University and An-Najah Friends Society for their cooperation and contribution to the launching of the new Reach headquarter in Nablus. He also hoped that cooperation between Reach and the University would expand further in the future so as to train more students and facilitate their integration into the work field after graduation.

Dr. Abu Daqqa on his part spoke to the audience about the importance of developing the quality and type of services delivered to the public. He stressed the necessity to make such services easily and quickly delivered to the people wherever they are. He added that the establishment of the new headquarter would benefit the students and give them a chance to receive training while they are still studying.

Prof. Hamdallah said that this effort indicates the University’s involvement and interaction with the different local institutions whether in Nablus or other Palestinian cities. Concentrating on developing the skills and potentials of youth is a characteristic of developed nations; young people are the key human resources in any society; therefore, institutions and organizations inside the country must come together to try to establish a generation of young people who are capable of building their country and contribute to the well-being of their society.

More than 100 students will benefit from this unique project and will receive paid training on how provide services to people through answering their inquiries and questions via phone calls.

This program will help deepen the level of cooperation and interaction between the academic and private sectors through offering training and employment to students after graduation.  

Mr. Al-Aker on his part spoke about the Palestine Telecommunication Company and the scope of services it delivers to the Palestinian people. He also praised the quality and kind of services that Reach provides to people around the clock.

Reach is the first specialized call center in Palestine; it was designed to offer solutions to customers through multiple channels including voice, email and web collaboration. The Company seeks to build strong relationship with clients and partnerships with others through its services.
