Between the 11^th -13^th of December 2009, the University participated in the international seminar on Jerusalem titled "Jerusalem in the Arab and International Intellect" which was held at Sidi Mohamed Benabdellah University in Fes, Morocco. The seminar comes in celebration of Jerusalem Capital of Arab Culture 2009.

Attended the seminar was Dr. Khalil Odeh, the Faculty of Arts Dean, who presented a work paper titled "The Cultural Identity of Jerusalem" in which he discussed the elements of the City's cultural identity and the differences between the Palestinian and the Jewish culture. Other participants included several Arab and international political and legal figures from France, Spain, Italy and several Arab countries.

The seminar included activities such as: presenting a number of poems by Arab and Spanish poets, organizing an exhibition that contained books and documents related to Jerusalem, in addition to a concert that was performed by the Palestinian Folk Band. Finally, Archbishop Capuchi spoke about his relationship with Jerusalem and pointed out to the dangers that both Islamic and Christian holy sites face. The participants presented several recommendations that promote the support of Jerusalem and its identity, and agreed on establishing coordination between An Najah University and Benabdellah University to hold a joint conference on Jerusalem.
