Under the patronage of H.E The Syrian Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Ghayath Barakat, the International Forum for Higher Education, Training and Recruitment began on the 4th of March and lasted for three days. The Exhibition was attended by more than forty associations. Students, representatives of local and international associations, companies, and institutions all participated in the exhibition.
The An-Najah National University delegation met with representatives from other delegations, as well as guests, and discussed a variety of joint projects in the field of electronic learning. The topics of the projects included the training of students and graduates and developing electronic curricula and technical solutions. Other meetings were organized with Syrian universities where An-Najah will send some of its music students to join international music camps this summer. Another project was discussed which will enable Palestinian students from An-Najah to take part in summer study visits in Syria that will explore the Syrian community and culture.
The University delegation attended workshops on the technical solutions available to universities in promoting and marketing their programs. The local media met with the university delegation and organized six interviews on the right to education in the Occupied Territories and the violations to the free movement of university students and faculty. They also discussed the financial and psychological impact the occupation has on university students.
At the end of the exhibition, the university delegation presented the university plaque to Damascus University, the Jordanian Embassy (representing Jordanian Universities), and Nahhas Group, the organizer of the Academy Syria Exhibition. The university plaque was also given to H.E. the Minister of Higher Education on the opening day of the exhibition, as well as to the Jordanian Minister of Higher Education, who also visited the exhibition.
