The University Participates in Sixth Session of International Higher Education Exhibition in Aleppo

An international exhibition for Higher Education, Recruitment, and training was held in Aleppo, Syria from the 13th-15th November. The event was organized with the coordination of international, Arab, and Syrian universities and institutions of higher education.
The international gathering was initiated by Academy Syria Group. An-Najah National University participated, sending two fellows to take part in the activities of the exhibition, which was also visited by the representatives of numerous academic and educational institutions in Syria. The two representatives also conversed with the educational staff of Syrian universities in order to exchange experiences and develop bilateral relationships, as well as to discuss the possibility of future cooperation in the common fields of interest.
Dr. Nizar Aqeel, the President of Aleppo University who represented the Minister of Higher Education in Syria, welcomed Palestinian participation in the exhibition. In addition, he expressed his sympathy toward Palestinian community; and reaffirmed the importance of strengthening relations between Palestinian and Syrian universities. Both Ala Yousef and Jalal Salman of the Public Relations Department at the University awarded Dr. Aqee the University plaque for his efforts to gain support for higher education in Palestine.
Dr. Aqeel, referred to a recent meeting held in Finland, which lead to cooperation between Mediterranean universities. At the same meeting, they confirmed the necessity to give more attention and support to Palestine. The delegation also met with representatives of the Public Relations Departments of Aleppo, Damascus, and Humos Universities and discussed the prospects of cooperation in order to strengthen cultural, academic, and scientific exchange, as well as study tours for the Palestinian students to Syria; Academy Syria strongly encourages and supports student exchanges.
The two representatives from An-Najah National University offered plaques in appreciation of the work of the representatives of Syrian universities and institutions of higher education. The exhibition coordinators thanked the An-Najah`s Delegation for its distinguished participation at the exhibition and its positive interaction. The Administration referred to Palestinian Universities’ role in developing higher education in Palestine.
The delegation introduced the Syrian visitors to An-Najah National University and the present situation of Palestinian higher education. Additionally, they discussed the developments of university programs. They also spoke with other universities about the importance of exchange projects such as An-Najah’s Zajel Youth Exchange Program and discussed the possibility of implementing similar programs in Syrian universities.
This is the third such participation of An-Najah National University in the activities of Academy Syria exhibition, which started three years ago. Through its participation, the university seeks strengthen relations with Arab universities and to promote academic and scientific developments, which have been achieved in many fields despite the current difficult situation in Palestine.
