On May 16th 2010, the International Youth Exchange Program (Zajel) of the Public Relations Department at the University organized an exhibition about the 1948 Palestinian exodus (Nakba) at the commercial complex in Nablus in which a number of local institutions participated. The exhibition aimed to shed light on the different phases in the history of the Palestinian people and the 1948 exodus which led to their diaspora.
The exhibition, which coincided with the commemoration of the 62 anniversary of the 1948 exodus, attracted a large number of people from different social, cultural and political backgrounds in the city.

Zajel also participated with a number of pictures and materials that were related to that event. A large number of pictures and photos of the different Palestinian cities and villages before and after the 1948 exodus were displayed at the exhibition. Those pictures depicted the cultural, social, economical and political aspects of the Palestinian life during that time and the sequence of events which finally led to the exodus.
Several phases in the history of the Palestinians were described through the pictures such as the Ottoman reign, the British Mandate and finally the 1948 exodus (Nakba) by the Israeli occupation.
The pictures also described the tradition and characteristics of the Palestinians such as their agriculture, industry, heritage and customs.
Visitors to the exhibition described it as a valuable historical reference, a source of information about the 1948 Nakba and a reminder of the event which marked a turning point in the history of the Palestinian people.
