The University Launches a Training Course in Industrial Calibration for Industrial Institutions in Palestine
On April 18th, the Continuing Education Center in cooperation with the Calibration Unit at An-Najah University started a specialized training course in industrial calibration for the industrial institutions in Palestine and the different testing laboratories. Attendees included Dr. Jalal Dabbeek, Coordinator of the Scientific Centers and Director of the Earth Sciences and Seismic Engineering Center at An-Najah.
The 3-day course which will be held at the laboratories of the Calibration Unit includes participants from 10 industrial companies, concrete and building materials testing laboratories in Nablus, Ramallah, Hebron and Tubas.
Trainer in the course is Engineer Ra’fat Kittaneh, Director of the Calibration Unit, and Engineer Majd Al-Quqa at the Unit. Engineer Kittaneh said the course is dedicated to meet the needs of the work market of such courses which focus on providing theoretical as well as practical training and cover several related topics including balance calibration, standard weights calibration, thermometers calibration, bacteria incubators, coolers and incinerators.
Dr. Musaddaq Al-Masri, Director of the Continuing Education Center, said the University and its scientific centers is ready to meet all the training needs of the local society. He added that holding this course came in response to the industrial institutions’ need to deal with issues of calibration and measurement which have a great impact on increasing the level of quality and production, and consequently benefiting these institutions, the local market and society.
