The newly opened amphitheatre hosted two thousand people who gathered to see the launching of the Kanan Troup for traditional dance that performed some dances that reflect and embody Palestinian history, culture, heritage and countryside life. The festival was attended by dignitaries and officials who praised the launching of the Kanan Troup and also highly appreciated the efforts of Hawwa Association for Culture and Arts.Ibrahim Abrash, Minister of Culture, stressed in his speech on the importance of culture in maintaining identity while Dr. Muhammad Hanoun, Vice President for Administrative Affairs at the University spoke about the importance of organizing such events for the citizens of Nablus. Ghada Abul Hadi, Head of the Hawwa Association for Culture and Arts spoke in her speech on the necessity of organizing such activities that will raise the spirits of the citizens of Nablus and will empower the feelings of Palestinian identity.
